We’re finally in April. February and March offered very little, due to bad weather. When the weather rarely did cooperate, the fishing was okay. Now that we are in April, things are getting better! With the water temperature rising, the speckled trout are staging and eating well for the upcoming spawn. The redfish are becoming more aggressive as well. As the shrimp and bait fish move back inshore in the next month or so, good fishing will become consistent. Live shrimp is still unavailable. We’ve been throwing 3″ plastics on a 3/8 oz jighead, and jigging underwater structures for the trout. It is a finesse style of fishing, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll start putting fish on ice.
Choice dates are still open in April, May, and summer months. My October and November 2021 days are almost full. I do have other boats available if I am booked. Mid September through November is the time for consistent big catches of multiple species. I recommend booking ASAP if you’d like to experience the best time of the year to be on the water.
