Business has been good, as well as the fishing, so I am very behind on posting reports. It has been difficult to respond to all the voicemails, emails, and texts, as I am a one man show. I do respond to every inquiry as soon as I can though and I appreciate everyone’s patience. If it’s an inquiry to book a trip, I will respond before I hit the sack at 7:30 pm. It’s been an unusual year for wind again and the local freshwater river is high and muddy, so we have been traveling to catch our fish. I am very happy to see the redfish population rebounding. There have been many days of catching 20 or more. A drastic improvement over the previous two years. Next year should be even better. The wind has kept us from targeting trout where we normally do this time of year, though the days we can there is no shortage of action. Fall will be here in a few months. Believe it or not, we are catching trout in Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Catherine, Lake Borgne, the interior and exterior of the Biloxi Marsh, MRGO, ICW, and the wall. In June. So, Fall is looking better than good at the moment. There are some decent trout to be caught at the bridges currently, but I’m not a fan of fishing close to other boats so I am steering clear of that bite.
July will be here soon. Dates are available. Big reds, big black drum, and trout will be on the menu for that time. August will be about the same. We all know that summer time is hot. One nice thing about summer is that the fish bite good early, so by 10:30/11 AM you have a great box of fish and can head in if it gets too hot.
