Fall Report

Fall has been fantastic! The great fishing we enjoyed in October and November is still strong through December. It’s so good, I am booking trips for January 2025. January and February are when we typically shut down due to slow fishing. As long as we continue with the mild temperatures, Speckled trout and redfish will keep on filling the fish box. This past October I gave most groups an offer for a long drive to catch just trout, or a 10 minute ride to fill the boat with drum, reds, bay snapper, and big trout. The choice, every time, was a short boat ride for the meat haul. I had the pleasure of taking some new faces out this Fall and I’m excited to see them again next Fall as they all booked a second trip.

About mid October the trout showed up at the bridges in Lake Pontchartrain and have been there since. Now they’re almost within casting range of the dock. It’s a great time to be on the water and there are some days available still for December and January. All signs are pointing to a great Spring in regards to New Orleans speckled trout and red fishing. March and April should be very good for fishing and we’ll only have about a 15 minute boat ride in the morning each day which will be nice. We’ll be fishing the Lake Pontchartrain bridges catching big trout, bay snapper, and redfish.
